A few years ago, I found myself in a rut both physically and emotionally. I was feeling stagnant in my workouts and yearning for something more in life. My friend suggested I join her local running group, and little did I know, it would change my life in ways I never imagined.

I was really nervous because I wasn’t a strong runner at the time, but from the moment I stepped onto the track for my first group run, I felt a surge of energy and excitement. The atmosphere was vibrant and positive, and I instantly felt a sense of belonging. As we embarked on our run together, I couldn't help but notice a certain someone who caught my eye.

He was a fellow runner in the group, and from our very first conversation, I felt a connection. We bonded over our runs, and since we are both so competitive, we pushed each other to new accomplishments along the way.

As our friendship blossomed into something more, we’d grab a bite to eat after our run, and started spending more and more time together. His support and encouragement, not only on the track but also in life, made me realize that he was someone really special.

Fast forward to today, and I'm thrilled that he is now not only my running partner but also my future husband. Our love story may have started on the track, but it's grown into something far beyond running. Together, we've participated in races, tackled life challenges together, and celebrated countless milestones, all while sharing an unbreakable bond forged through our mutual interest in running.

Joining the running group didn't just help me get in shape or meet new friends - it led me straight to the love of my life. So if you're hesitant about joining a running group, or doing anything that is a bit outside of your comfort zone, remember that you never know what incredible opportunities and connections may await you on the track. As for me, I'm forever grateful for the day I laced up my sneakers and took that first step towards love.
